Parade Rules and Regulations: Sunday September 20, 2008 You must check in at the check-in table!

All participants should begin arriving no later than 11:30AM. All entries must check in at the registration booth.

THE PARADE STARTS PROMPTLY AT 1:00PM.

Throwing Candy

Please make all participants in your entry aware that it is absolutely forbidden to throw candy or any other objects from any moving or stopped vehicles or floats or while walking. If it is your desire to pass candy or other items out to the crowds, we must insist that you hand the items directly to the people watching the parade.

Animals/Horses

All animals (horses, donkeys, dogs, etc.) must wear diapers or be followed by a pooper-scooper. No exceptions.

All animals must be on a leash. Animals endangering the safety of the parade watchers will be excused from the parade. Please take the necessary steps to make sure your animal is safe and secure while in the parking lot.

Groups: Walking/Bicycling/Others

Groups are limited to 25 people, unless approved by the Parade Committee in advance. (This does not include school marching bands.)

Floats

Floats are considered any vehicle or animal that is towing a trailer of any length. It is important that you fill out the length and size of your float plus tow vehicle on the application.

Cars

Entries will be limited to one vehicle (car or truck) per entry unless the Parade Committee gives prior approval. Entries are also limited to 10 walkers to walk along side the vehicles to hand out candy or other items along the parade route.

Motorized Vehicles

Motorcycles, ATVs, minibikes, etc. are limited to 40 feet per entry, unless the Parade Committee gives prior approval.

General

Please respect the other entrants by staying in your assigned position and leaving the parking area in the arranged order.

There will be a few entrants that will stop to entertain the crowd. If you happen to be behind this group, please stop and wait for them to finish before you proceed. We will inform you of this at the check-in table.

Please maintain the space between you and the parade entrant in front of you to 50 feet if possible. That means that vehicles need to slow down for walking groups.

Please attach a large sign of some sort (poster board, banner, etc) to the front of your entry. This will help the announcers to better identify you for their broadcast. This is not required, but very helpful. Please make sure all signs are secured safely.

You may park your horse trailers, cars, buses, etc., at Arnold City Park.

Please call Tim Crutchley at Fox C-6 Administration Building at 636-296-8000 or Becky Moss at Arnold Parks Department at (636)282-2380 with any questions.
