Arnold City Park also offers a para-course, an outdoor course with areas designated for specific exercises.
Pavilion reservations must be made through the Parks & Recreation Department by calling (636)282-2380.
Ferd B. Lang Park is a 25 acre park located on Old Lemay Ferry Road. The main attraction at this park is the outdoor 25-meter swimming pool and concession stand which is open during the summer months.
The park also boasts seven pavillions with electric and BBQ pits at each site. Other amenities include a playground, nature trails, two multi-purpose fields, restrooms and five horseshoe pits.
Pavilion reservations must be made through the Parks & Recreation Department by calling (636)282-2380.
With the help of the Missouri Department of Conservation, $33,000 was recently allotted to pave the parking lot and add new parking spaces for vehicles and for vehicle/boat trailers.
Flamm City Park also borders David R. Collins Park, Teszars Woods and Pomme Creek. David R. Collins Park at Causeway Drive and Bayvue Blvd. has two softball fields on a 25 acre lot. Teszars Woods, on Rockwood Drive off of Telegraph Road, is a 90 acre nature area with several trails. The Strawberry Creek Nature Area encompasses 121 acres of property on Upper Tenbrook Road, about 1/2-mile past the intersection of Tenbrook and Hwy. 231. The nature area includes a pond and four walking trails. Strawberry Creek winds throughout the property, which is filled with a variety of vegetation and wildlife.
A new pavilion that seats 25 has been constructed near the entrance. Arnold acquired the former Collins Tract in 1997 through a 1/4-cent sales tax that went into effect in January 1998 and was levied to last eight years. The city paid off the debt early in March 2002, four years earlier than expected. In conjunction with the Missouri Department of Conservation, the Parks Department plans to build additional ponds that can be used for fishing and will improve wildlife habitat. Plans are also in the works to install restrooms and to pave the parking lot.
