Chief Shockey started his career in law enforcement over 23 years ago. He has held various assignments inside the Arnold Police Department and has advanced through the chain of command.

He was promoted to Sergeant in June, 1996 and was responsible for a platoon of officers and the traffic unit. He was promoted to Lieutenant in February, 1997 and became the Commander of Criminal Investigations.

In 2001, Shockey was appointed Chief of Police.
