City of Arnold, MO. USA /Traffic Unit Page

The traffic unit of the Arnold Police Department is a specialized group of 4 officers that are specially trained in accident reconstruction and traffic control. This unit is supervised by a Lieutenant and they are available 24 hours a day for serious accident investigations and reconstruction.

The traffic unit officers are state certified motorcycle officers and operate 2 Harley Davidson police motorcycles. Officers are specially trained in Dopler and Laser radar for detection of hazardous speeding violations.

The traffic unit is actively involved in conducting DWI Sobriety Checkpoints throughout the year.

They also administer several enforcement traffic grants that target agressive moving violations. The department has a mobile radar trailer that can be deployed anywhere in the city to alert drivers who may be exceeding the speed limit.

Team members are certified as accident reconstructionists through the State of Missouri and also assist with traffic planning for special events in the city such as: Arnold Days and the Fourth of July.
