Nestled in the quiet woods of Arnold Park, there's going to be some punching going on! The Jefferson County Labor Club will be hosting a boxing event that will benefit the BackStoppers. The BackStoppers are a non-profit organization providing financial support and assistance to families of local area police officers and firefighters who have perished in the line of duty.
On Saturday May 6th, the "Main Event" extravaganza will begin with a Color Guard salute at noon (seating begins at 11am) and the event will go until 5pm. The 24 men and 2 women who will be participating are area firefighters and police officers that have gone through 13 weeks of intense training with Fire Chief Greg Brown and Mike Stocker of the Eureka Fire Dept. Participants of the "Main Event" will be paired by age and weight.
Fans will not be allowed to bring coolers to the event, although, concessions will be available.
