The City of Arnold Police Department is dedicated to ensuring public safety.
We are committed to providing quality public service to citizens in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, with a commitment to professionalism, fairness, compassion, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Uniform Patrol Division
The Uniform Patrol Division is the Department’s most visible resource and the backbone of the Department. Officers patrol City streets, subdivisions, and shopping centers 24 hours a day as part of their regular duties, scanning the City for criminal activity, traffic violations, and problems that relate to public safety.
Patrol Division officers also are the first responders on calls for police assistance in emergency situations. Their complete and accurate initial investigations assist the Criminal Investigative Unit in the prosecution of criminal offenders.
All Patrol Division officers regularly receive training in weaponry, life-saving methods, updates in federal, state, and local laws, and other areas of expertise to provide the citizens of Arnold the best possible public safety services.

Traffic & Accident Reconstruction Unit
The Traffic Unit of the Arnold Police Department is a specialized group of four officers who are specially trained in accident reconstruction and traffic control. This Unit is supervised by a Lieutenant, and they are available 24 hours a day for serious accident investigations and reconstruction.
The Traffic Unit officers are state certified motorcycle officers and operate Harley Davidson police motorcycles. Officers are specially trained in Doppler and Laser radar for detection of hazardous speeding violations.
The Traffic Unit is actively involved in conducting DUI Sobriety Checkpoints throughout the year.
They also administer several enforcement traffic grants that target aggressive moving violations. The Department has a mobile radar trailer that can be deployed anywhere in the city to alert drivers who may be exceeding the speed limit.
Team members are certified as accident reconstructionists through the State of Missouri and also assist with traffic planning for special events in the city such as Arnold Days and the Fourth of July.
The Arnold K-9 Unit has been in existence since 1995. The canine unit is responsible for finding and seizing illegal narcotics. The dogs are also available for tracking lost persons and fugitives from justice.
Through the forfeiture of property, the Police Department has been able to purchase equipment and police vehicles.
One of the dogs is specifically trained to locate bombs. In a cooperative agreement with the National Imaging and Mapping Agency, the City agreed to provide a bomb-sniffing dog that could be used in an emergency situation.
