Animal Control and Welfare Schedule of Fees
Per Resolution 24-65. the City shall charge fees, based upon their actual expenses, consistent with the fee schedule herein set out, required or requested pursuant to the Arnold, Missouri Animal Control and Welfare Ordinance as follows:
Animal Registration
- Spayed/neutered and/or microchipped: $10.00
- Pet owner is 62 years or older or 100% disabled: $5.00
- Not spayed/neutered or microchipped: $30.00*
- Pet owner is 62 years or older or 100% disabled: $15.00
Note: Each animal registration is valid for the effective period of its associated vaccination.
*An owner who has paid the fee for an unspayed/unneutered and/or non-microchipped animal may receive a $20/$10 differential refund if the animal has been spayed/neutered or microchipped during the first half of the effective period of the vaccination, provided they submit documentation from their veterinarian of the procedure.

Special Annual Permits
- Backyard Chickens: $10.00 per household
- Wild Animals: $10.00 per animal
- Farm Animals: $10.00 per animal
Note: The keeping of backyard chickens, wild animals, and farm animals are only permitted subject to the provisions of the Animal Control and Welfare Ordinance for each classification.
Adoption Fees
Fee may include and shall be based upon the costs of registration, tags, physical examination, heartworm, Feline Leukemia test, vaccination, microchipping, and sterilization expenses, but shall be no less than:

*Notes:
(1.) Total fees shall be reduced by 10% when a party adopts two or more spayed/neutered animals at one time.
(2.) This fee schedule is based upon the utilization of a City-authorized veterinarian who provides discounted services reflected herein. Should an adopter utilize a different veterinarian, and provide written proof of services rendered, the City may at its discretion refund a portion of the total adoption fee dedicated to that particular service.
Impound Boarding (For strays, at-large, and bite quarantine)
- Each weekday commencing with the 2nd day: $20.00
- Each weekend day: $40.00
- Bite Quarantine: $200.00 (flat fee)
Reclamation
First Impoundment
- For spayed/neutered animals: $25 plus applicable registration fees, daily impound boarding fees, and any associated medical costs.
- For *non-altered animals: $50 plus applicable registration fees, daily impound boarding fees, and any associated medical costs.
Second Impoundment**
- For spayed/neutered animals: $35 plus applicable registration fees, daily impound boarding fees, and any associated medical costs.
- For *non-altered animals: $60 plus applicable registration fees, daily impound boarding fees, and any associated medical costs.
Third & all subsequent Impoundments**
- For spayed/neutered animals: $45 plus applicable registration fees, daily impound boarding fees, and any associated medical costs.
- For *non-altered animals: $70 plus applicable registration fees, daily impound boarding fees, and any associated medical costs.
*Over Six (6) month of age ** Within 18 months of previous impoundment
Vaccination Prior to Impound Release
- Spayed/neutered: $15.00
- Not spayed/neutered: $30.00
Microchip Prior to Impound Release (When required per Section 210.170 Vicious Animals)
- Per Animal: $60.00
Relinquish/Surrender
- Single animal, if not adoptable: $60.00
- Single animal, if adoptable: $40.00
- Litters of two or more animals: $50.00
Enforcement Fines and Costs
Per Section 100.140 General Penalty — Violations. of the Arnold Code of Ordinances, violations of the Animal Control and Welfare Ordinance shall be punished by a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00) or imprisonment for not more than ninety (90) days, or both.
Supplementary Fee Information
The Community Development Department Director may waive or modify a fee if he/she determines the waiver or modification of such fee to be appropriate.
